- Let's Talk About ADD
Dr. Whitney is a Clinical Assistant Professor and PMHNP Program Coordinator at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
- Overcoming Inertia for Diabetes Care
Lindy is Executive Director and a Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist at Great Plains Diabetes. She is also an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Nursing at Wichita State University. She graduated from Wichita State University with a Masters in Nursing, Diabetes Nurse Specialist. Lindy served as editor for Diabetes Spectrum from 2001 to 2005, is the editor of The Complete Nurses Guide to Diabetes Care, and has authored several publications. Lindy is the 2010 recipient of the American Diabetes Association's Outstanding Educator in Diabetes Award and the 1997 recipient of the American Diabetes Association Dr. Rachmiel Levine Award. She also served on the 2005/2012 ADA Advisory Panel on hypoglycemia and has served on the International Hypoglycemia Study Group board since its inception. She has been married to Rick since 1975, has two adult children, and enjoys her farm on weekends in North Central Kansas.
- Differentiating Dementias
We are thrilled to have our most recent past KAPN president join us to present on her area of expertise, differentiating dementias.
Amy Siple has been a national speaker on health care issues that impact older adults as well as the empowerment of their caregivers for more than 20 years. She maintains an active practice as a geriatric nurse practitioner and was a tenured associate professor of nursing for over 15 years. She is recognized as a leading expert on dementia-related topics and has been appointed by two Kansas governors to serve on boards and task forces to represent the health care interests of older adults.
Amy and Scott have been married for 28 years. They have two children and one grandchild and live in Wichita.
- Medical Management for Chronic Pain
Born and raised in Lawrence, KS, Morteza “Mort” Rabii is a life-long Jayhawk. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of Kansas. In graduate school he focused on the importance of patient education on improving pain relief. Prior to joining Crimson Pain Management, Mort worked in orthopedics for nearly 10 years, gaining an understanding of chronic back and joint pain. Passionate about pain management, Mort focuses on caring for the whole patient.
