LETTER FROM KAPN PAC

Dear KAPN members,

Your KAPN-PAC is gearing up for the 2026 election cycle. As you have probably heard, APRNs are in a battle at the federal level to get APRNs included in the Department of Education’s definition of a Professional Degree Program. APRNs meet the definition but have been excluded in the list of professional students who qualify for a higher limit on student loan money. If the DOE doesn’t change this “oversight”, it will be disastrous for states like Kansas. The comment period will be coming up soon, please get involved. In Kansas, we need to be vigilant about any actions that would hurt APRNs in Kansas.

The KAPN-PAC relies on your support to back APRN-friendly candidates and legislators at the local, state, and national levels. Your donation helps us strengthen the KAPN-PAC, ensuring we stay active and continue supporting leaders who advocate for APRN-positive legislation, ultimately benefiting patient care. Every dollar contributed goes directly toward this mission. We depend on your help to continue this essential work.
